Role Models of Today

Updated: Jun 3, 2020

In this post I want to discuss two exceptional role models that I believe deserve the spotlights and red carpets. Lizzo, and Rihanna.

“ ‘Flight of the Bumblebee’ is for basic bitches,”

Once a classical flautist, now cover girl of Vogue Uk, grazia mexico, entertainment weekly, and most recently Estilodf to name a few Lizzo is a walking and talking icon!

With lyrics like ‘I am my inspiration’ Lizzo is an artist that represents everything every girl should aspire to be. Her signature leotard looks celebrates body confidence. Pairing this with her sass and self love she is the positive role model that should be promoted on social media threads to break up your perfect feed of the ‘ideal’ lifestyle. Her honesty and and roar truth told in each of her songs is so relatable and has the power to inspire and empower her listeners with every stream.

Some say bad girl, some say role model. Despite her hesitation to the to the term, Rihanna is most definitely the role model the girls need. Whether she’s bang on trend or rocking the carpet her own way, the one thing Rihanna always wears is confidence. The bad girl who follows no rules and has no fears will always come out on top of the pyramid when she believes in herself, he look and her choices. More recently having launched the all accepting and celebratory savage Fenty collection, Rihanna put on the catwalk of the generation. With enormous streaming figures and, as a result, huge successes in stats in just a few months, Rihanna has opened up a world post Victoria Secrets shows and is encouraging an inclusive and diverse future in an industry that’s been so defined for so long.

These two women have chosen to break away from stereotypes and simply do what they want to do, to makes them feel right and as a result are both seen as some of the most positive influencers/celebrities on the generation.
